Biological Matrices used in Omics

Recently, conducted Science-Zone.net in collaboration with the Journal of Applied Bioanalysis scientists working in the field of OMICS to participate in a survey on OMICS and Multi-OMICs analysis in Biomedical Applications.

Survey Question

What type of matrix do you mainly work with in Omics?

Survey results

The survey results show a great diversity in biological matrices used in OMICS studies.

Not surprisingly, the biological matrices plasma and serum are the most used biological matrices in OMICS although other biological matrices are (increasingly) being applied.

Interesting to see is the application of less conventional biological matrices such as food, urine, plants, sebum, sweat, hair and proteins in OMICS studies.

More survey results will be presented tomorrow on this blog.
